Every thanksgiving I like thinking about what I’m thankful for. Before going to Africa I was always thankful for the same things family, friends, food and a house to live in. I never understood the extent of these things until I went to Africa. I also realized how much I was taking for granted in my everyday life.
I’m thankful that I have a bed, blanket, and a pillow to lay my head on at night
I’m thankful that my house is big enough where each of us has our own room
I’m thankful for an amazing thanksgiving dinner with pumpkin pie

I’m thankful for a toilet and toilet paper
I’m thankful I don’t have to walk a mile in the morning to fetch water
I’m thankful for clean water
I’m thankful for a closet full of clothes
I’m thankful for more than one pair of shoes
I’m thankful for a washing machine
I’m thankful for the opportunity to go to Uganda and experience their culture. To meet these beautiful people who have nothing, but yet have everything.
